An app can help
There’s still a long way to go to solve the problem of domestic violence,
but today technology can actually help.
Have a look at these apps, they can help prevent or report abuses.
Circle of 6 allows users to access
six of their closest contacts when
faced with a threatening situation.
With just 2 touches of the screen,
a user can send a text message
to a circle of 6 pre-selected contacts
to inform them of her location.
The R3 App was create for medical
professionals but can be easily used
It allows to assess domestic abuse
victims through 4 simple screening
questions based on the HITS screen tool.
ABUSE RADAR: our own app-idea.
The concept is simple: the app looks like a normal calendar and because
of safety reasons the user can change the name and the icon of the app itself.
When the user arrives at home, the app puts automatically the phone
in “listening mode”.
When the microphone of the device detects a scream or any other
high-volume sound, the app starts recording.
We are working on its feasibility, if you are a developer
or if you are interested in funding the project please get in contact.
